    Helmets

I will have to look it up. I did not know it was a law. I wonder how I would find that information out? Do you have a link to the information?

    Coal Mine Breakfast

Wow Jason! Who are you feeding? :) I love sausage gravy over biscuits though. Add a side of grits with Parmesan cheese in them and I am in heaven.

    Potatoes?

We like to take the leftover baked potatoes and mix them up on the flat grill with eggs, sausage, onion, and lots of cheese for one of our camping breakfasts.

    Keeping pets safe

My 2 dogs also are treated with the advantage. So far (knock on wood) they have never had a tick. I don't do anymore than that, except they do hang out by the fire with us. Smokey smell keeps the bugs away.

    The worst camping days

Honestly, I don't think we have really had any horrible camping trips. We have had a couple rainy ones, but we can make the best of it. I come prepared.

    Sleeping In Hammocks

I haven't slept in a hammock for years. We use to have a couple out in our yard when I was a kid. My mother use to let my siblings and I sleep out under the stars. It was great!

    Mildew

I would not only clean it with bleach, but after the bleach round is done and dry, I would go back in and clean it down with vinegar and water. You do need to find out where the source is coming from though. It might be an easy fix.

    Staying comitted to camping trips

We certainly do. When we get it in our mind that we are going, we are going no matter what. We traveled through a really bad storm once to get to our campsite. We were dodging down tree limbs all the way there.

    Helmets

My daughter and I were having a discussion about wearing bicycle helmets when riding. I am not on my kids as much as I should about their helmets. I think because I didn't wear them when I was growing up. My daughter was telling me, it is the law. Is that true? Is there a law that says you...

    Could You?

Right now, I say I couldn't but you never know unless you are in that situation. I think we all have the survival instinct in us that helps us survive.

    Electronics

Between myself and my kids, I think we pretty much have everything covered that you listed. We bring them along with us to use in case it rains and at night when we are relaxing in the tent at night.

    Poison Ivy

I have never had poison ivy (knock on wood). I am wondering what this jewelweed plant looks like. Could you give me a description? I would like to look for it the next time I am in the woods.

    Getting hurt

Have you or someone you were camping with have some sort of accident while you were camping? Did you have to rush out of the woods? Do you plan for emergencies?

    Packing

I pack what we need. I have it down to a science now. We have all our camping gear organized, so really the only thing I pack from the house is the food and our clothes and hygiene supplies.

    Who does what?

We have been camping for so long, everybody just knows what they have to do. Our rule is, everybody has to work. Camping is a lot of fun, but a lot of work also. My kids are pretty good about pitching in and getting the jobs done.

A soap that keeps the mosquitos away?

This is interesting. I am going to have to take a lot and see if it is something I would like to try. I have use the Avon skin-so-soft products. I wasn't impressed. I didn't think it kept the mosquitoes away, but many people swear by it.

    Cleaning The Camp Grounds

Yes! This is a major thing with my family. We burn what we can and hang trash bags in the tree while we are camping. Everything we didn't burn goes home with us. We have even cleaned up other trash that people have left behind.

    Sleeping routine

What time do you find yourself going to bed when you are camping? Do you sleep in or do you get up earlier than you would if you were at home?

    Random trip

We have done the unexpected trips. Not back packing trips, but road trips. It is hard for me because I am a major planner and my other half flies by the seat of his pants. Some of our trips are planned a year in advance and other trips are planned while we are in the car. :)

    Keeping the Tent Clean

My family is pretty good at keeping the inside of the tent clean. I have little rugs on the outside of the tent doors. Everybody takes their shoes off before they reach the rug. Then they step on the rug and go inside the tent. I also sweep the tent out every evening before bedtime.
