    hyper active kids

I think it's drug companies trying to make money. There are certainly kids who do need this type of treatment but they are few and far between. If kids were allowed to be kids and run and play, they would be fine. We used to come back from recess so tired, it was all the teacher could do to keep...

    Wild Squirrel

We have a nuclear dump site in our county. I haven't seen any three eyed fish or two headed squirrels but you never know what's going to show up.

    Nols

Oh I would hope so too. You want to teach the kids to be safe in all of the ways you can think of. I know you can't teach them everything but you can teach them to think, that's the best weapon you can have. I hope they are doing well.

    Reenactors?

I've thought about doing the Renaissance reenacting too. I think I was born in the wrong century. I think it's just that I love the old fashioned ways of doing things.

    Reenactors?

Are there any Civil War reenactors here? We went to an exhibit this last summer and I honestly was thinking about joining them. My husband was interested as well. It looks like loads of fun and a good way to remember the "Glorious Dead". :)

    Turkey Call Phone Ring

I love it! That's not the usual place I would expect to hear a turkey! I bet it was a scream! How many of the hunters were looking for it? I bet my husband would have!

    Pond Full Of Trash!!

Man! I hate things like that. You must have been convenient or something. I've come upon several dump sites that were unexpected. People have no respect for the planet or for each other these days.

    Elderberry Wine

I'm not a big wine drinker but I do love elderberry jelly. I've made some before but didn't have time to this year. I try to go out when every kind of berry is on the bush and make something out of it.

    What's your dream climb?

I don't like climbing either but I do enjoy seeing photos from that viewpoint. I prefer to keep myself firmly on the ground. Gravity is a drag!

    Regularly see wild life?

We live in a rural area too. We regularly see just about every wild animal that lives in our area. We feed deer out back in our yard, we see fox occasionally, we see raccoons often and turkeys everywhere. We also, unfortunately, see opposum on our porch eating our cat's food. Those suckers are...

What Type Of Christmas Tree Do You Like?

Blue spruce are beautiful, but I don't really have a preference. As long as they are fairly symmetrical and full, I will go for it. I prefer a real tree but if I have to, I'll pull out the old artificial tree. We had a potted tree last year and planted it after we got done with it this spring.

    Thank a Veteran

I have always loved that, Refrigerator. He was a wonderful man. My husband is an ex Marine and would still go to war if he needed to. Two of my nephews are in service now as a matter of fact and I thank each and every man and woman who have been and are in the service. If not for them we...

    Pumpkin Pie

Does pumpkin pie need to be refrigerated after you make it? I would love to take some to my sister's house but she lives 4 hours away from us. We are going there for Thanksgiving and she loves my pies because I use fresh pumpkin. I'd love to surprise her with some but transportation is going to...

    Local Pay Lake Closed!

I am not happy. It's not time to quit fishing yet. I went past there today and they were taking down the sign for the season. I guess I could still ask if I could go fish if I wanted to. We've had temperatures up in the 70's all week so I don't know why they quit.

    too much tv

We don't have a limit, but we insist everything must be done if they want to watch something. Whomever is home at the time, makes sure they get their homework done before dinner and then they can watch TV with us.

    Afield with horse blanket pins...!!

Horse blanket pins were also what we used to hold our tartan wrap around skirts closed with back in the 60's. They were very useful and some were very pretty.

    Grizzly Attack In Yellowstone

Thanks guys! That's the one. I went back to try to find it where it was and it had already been buried by everything else. I'm glad he wasn't hurt badly. I bet he was plenty scared though.

    Grizzly Attack In Yellowstone

I just glanced over the news yesterday but I did see something about another Grizzly attack in Yellowstone. Does anyone know anything further about it? I have been watching to see what's going on with bear attacks but I missed this story.

Do you dare to go out on "Black Friday"?

Absolutely not! After the guy at Wal-Mart got trampled to death by shoppers, I have vowed never to even try it. I haven't been out in it before anyway because I can't stand that many people in contact with my person.

    Daylight Savings Time

I HATE this spring forward, fall back stuff! I have disliked it more and more the older I get. I honestly don't see the point since we have electricity these days and I absolutely hate that it gets dark almost before the kids get home from school.
