    Snapping Turtle!

Wow, I've never heard of snapping turtle. I have always known turtles to be timid and withdrawn. I better go check with uncle Google to find out how they look like. I certainly do not want to get snapped by any of them.

    Visiting Underground River

I'm going to visit the Underground River in Palawan, Philippines. I will surely take lots of photos. I had been there once and didn't have a camera then so hopefully this time I won't forget my cam--and the charger as well.

    Boycotting Unilever for deforestation

It's not hearsay. It was all in the paper. A few weeks ago, I bought dove bar. The next day, my husband showed me the news article about it. I didn't react right away. I looked for similar news online until I have read enough information. I know it's kind of difficult because a lot of products...

    The Countdown Begins!

Wow, Yosemite is a great place. I hope you will have great fun out there. I haven't been there either but my brother has and showed me some photos. Love the great falls!

What would you do? Ideas - wet wood

Hmm nice topic and great answers, I have learned a lot. I probably wouldn't have known what to do, either. But with all the good ideas shared here, I certainly would try them. I was just wondering why you didn't bring with you any stove at all just in case.

    Never rode a jet ski

It's super fun. I was also scared at first because I couldn't swim--I still can't and I can't ride a bike either. But jets skis have their own balance. No need to fear at all. Once you've tried it, you'll fall in love with it. Make sure you wear a life vest and don't make sharp turns. Obviously...

    Going up is easier...

I was a missionary in the Mountain Province in the Philippines for 10 months and everyday I had to climb up and down the hills and valleys. I have lost tracked how many times I rolled down the hills. When there was nothing to hold on to I used my butt to inch my way down. Nevertheless, it was a...

    Into the Wild

I watched this movie a couple of years ago and I cried at the end. Does anyone else like it as much as I do? It also reminded me of the movie, Eight Below which also made me cry for those poor sled dogs left on their own.

    Meatballs

When I was in Thailand I saw them roasting meatballs, fishballs, and vegetarian balls but I think they contained more flour than meat. Way to go for your daughter. Many of our favorite foods today were discovered serendipitously.

    Eating Raw Meat

Hmm, I don't think I can do it. But you never know unless you get to the situation. I was just thinking about the Vietnamese refugees who got on a boat to run away from communism. Their stories say that they had to eat some of their companions to stay alive. I can't even start to think about it.

    Going up is easier...

than going down. I love hiking and trekking and I can race going up but going down is always a problem with me. I've got soft patella and I'm flat-footed. But these don't deter me from hiking and trekking.

    Funny tent

That is one great, funny tent. I'm sure everybody will love it. It feels like home away from home in the woods. :tinysmile_hmm_t: I remember building play houses in the backyard when I was a kid. This one's would really be awesome.

    Crafts At The Campsite

Yes, sometimes you need a new environment to finish your project. I sometimes just go to the park to write or to compose a poem. The fresh air outside gives the brain its much needed oxygen and it makes you concentrate better.

    Swimming with dolphins

This is one of my "To do list". I don't like watching dolphins making tricks for people except their natural abilities. But to go swimming with them would be a dream come true.

    Stone Soup

On my last high school camping, our camp leader made us make stone soup with all the vegies we had left on the last day. We were camped by a small river and they told us to pick and clean some stones. I almost didn't want to taste it but for curiosity sake, I did. It wasn't bad after all...

    Camouflage

I like wearing camouflage or forest colors when I go camping or hiking. I think it is important to wear something that you can be easily spotted just in case something undesirable happens like getting lost. Well, I hope no one gets lost.

    New camping car

That's a very good move. Sometimes, we women don't understand how men think and vice versa. But if something is logical and it makes my husband feel more like a man then I let him do it.

    Dehydrator

I've been wanting one, myself, for drying up fruits and herbs. I've got plenty of herbs in my allotment now and I want to dry and store them for winter use. My gas oven doesn't have lower than 140C so I can't use it.

    Boycotting Unilever for deforestation

I have loved a lot of unilever products especially their Dove beauty products. For me it's the best, affordable product I am satisfied with. But upon knowing they're behind deforestation in Indonesia to make way for palm plantation, I didn't have to think twice. I'm done with them. I may be only...
