    Medicinal Importance Of Spices

I used to hate having spices in my food as a kid, but now that I'm older, I've already embraced them with my stomach! Sigh... if only I listened to my mother a long time ago about the health benefits they give to our body, I wouldn't get sick back then.

    Entertainment Options

A pocketbook, badminton racket and bird, deck of cards and some puzzle games to buy time. I rarely bring my wooden guitar at the camp, it depends if I bring our wheels on the outdoors.

    Bear Warning

Thankfully nothing bad happened to Andrew Kane, that bear was so unpredictable and the photographer didn't even hear the beast's steps. Maybe the standing gadget looked interesting to him. By the way, great photo. That is a rare snapshot.

    Dutch Oven Spaghetti

Great idea! I would substitute spaghetti noodles with elbow macaroni pasta instead. I bet that they're better baked than long noodles and easier to stir in the sauce.

    Best dessert for camping

Not a dessert fan but I eat it once in a while. I prefer prepacked cinnamon rolls with glazed sugar on top that is ready to eat anytime at the camp. Other options are fruit salad and banana split.

    Broccoli salad?

We had broccoli salad on that day as well. The dressing used was extra virgin olive oil mixed with vinegar so I think it is called vinaigrette. We added a few croutons and some hard boiled egg slices.

    Fleas!! in cars and update

We have normal fleas and they came from my dogs. They crawl everywhere, even on the corners of my bedroom wall. Sadly I couldn't remove them with tick and flea shampoo alone. Frontline applicator is so expensive nowadays.

    Neat idea - Squash cooking

Okay I remember a squash dish similar to what that guy has cooked, we had it that was served at a local Thai restaurant a few years ago. It had a creamy cheese soup at the center of the squash and it looked like it was baked. That was a neat recipe, Jason. I bet it tasted good.

    Loaded Baked potato salad

Hi Greatoutdoors! Thanks for sharing your potato salad recipe. Can you give suggestions on what dressing to substitute for mayonnaise, aside from light one? A family member hates mayonnaise of any kind because of its sour taste.

    Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bites

I remember a similar dessert made by my younger brother during their home economics class project. The thing that made it a hit was because of the rice krispies that were added to the chocolate-peanut butter flavor.

Giant shark caught off SoCal coast

Where did you find that crazy story? That must be scary, I bet those people who caught the creature were after its fin? Or just putting him up in an aquatic zoo?

    Baking soda

Thanks for the link Grandpa! I've looked at the list of baking soda uses, but unfortunately I couldn't see if it can cure pimples/acne. I should have brought the thing along when we were camping out to use it for washing vegetables and fruits.

    Kimchi fried rice

Yes indeed, it is spicy so I had to add more rice about two to three cups to lessen the spiciness. I even add the garnishes of my choice to make the dish more palatable.

    Redesign?

The earth/nature theme is okay but I would like to see a little spice in the forum. I'd like to see if there's another font that looks appropriate for the outdoor forum theme aside from the one we're using now.

    Nacho garnish

Hey Coz, care to share that recipe of your garnish? Anyway, my cousin told me to try sprinkling McCormick taco seasoning on cooked ground beef bits then mix it with chopped white onions, ripe tomatoes and cheese.

Has anyone ever had Lion fish?

I have seen a lion fish in a photo or game but never seen an actual one. Hazel is right, those kind of fish look good to be kept as pet in an aquarium. I would try their meat if prepared properly.

    Nacho garnish

What is your preferred garnish for your nacho chips? I am planning to prepare the ingredients for the garnish as my nephew will be camping out with his friends and he wants me to cook some filling to be used as a garnish for his nacho chips.

    Lolong

Have you guys heard of Lolong, the Philippine saltwater crocodile? I read from the Yahoo news that the Guinness Book of World Records declared that the said crocodile is the largest one in captivity and weighs more than a tonne. How cool is that? He has a lot of visitors every single day to see...

    Colorado wildfires

I hope everyone affected by the fire in Colorado have already evacuated for their safety. I have a childhood friend that relocated there ever since she got married, called her up and I was relieved to hear that she's safe.
