    Impulse buying

If there is a clearance sign in any store, you will find me there. I am the worst impulse shopper out there. I head to the store for a gallon of milk and return with a carload of crap. Maybe someday I will learn, until then I guess I will just have to keep working!

I found a puppy in the woods.

I suppose you could try to put posters up in the area where you found him. I would give it about a month and then if you cannot find the owner, I would say he is yours to keep.

If you want to see something really amusing...

I cannot believe that that place is still in business! That said, I guess if they can sell one item at full price, it is like selling 50 for a different company.

    Chicken Pot Pie

:roll:To me, a good chicken pot pie is comparable to a hot cup of chicken noodle soup on a cold windy day. The great thing about the potpie is you don't need any crackers!

My mom is disabled and wants to go camping, any adivce?

My mom wants to go camping this summer. The only problem is that she recently hurt her back and cannot sleep on a cot or in a sleeping bag because she needs a softer surface. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for me. I would hate her to miss out because of her back injury.

    Lemon Shine

Cappy, I really enjoyed your story and the pictures are great. I am a huge fan of lemons. As a child, I frequently ate them sprinkled with salt. Looking at your pictures made my mouth water! Thanks for sharing! :bounce:

    Camping in a Hurricane?

You are so right Woodsman! If I have learned anything from my 12 years of watching survivor-it is always consider everything before setting up your shelter. Lol I have never been caught in a hurricane or anything like that. I am sure that a situation like that would be terrifying! I live in...

    Why?

To Each His Own I agree with Newanderthal. While I do not understand why someone would want to risk his life climbing up a mountain or jumping from a plane, as long as he is not hurting anyone else, Enjoy! My husband went skydiving about 15 years ago; I stayed home and worried myself sick...

What is up with the weather?

So, the snow is finally headed this way. It is supposed to be a huge event with as much as 6 inches by tomorrow night! The weather here in the Midwest is so strange this year. We will be getting all this snow and then by Thursday it will be in the 40s and up to 50 on the weekend. I hope that...

    Anyone up for this?

What a great way to earn money for a good cause. Years ago, we enjoyed watching the Eco-Challenge does anyone remember that? I have a back injury so I could not run the Tough Mudder race, but I would love to watch it.

    Hashbrown Casserole for Breakfast

Go ahead and add the garlic dinosaur! I bet that would be yummy. I am sure you can cook it in a Dutch oven. A friend of mine makes a variation of this in her oven. She uses a casserole dish that she sprays with butter-flavored cooking spray. She cooks it at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes (or...

    Natural Springs

I have yet to visit an area that has the heavily mineralized water. I know that many creatures adapt to their environments. I am just curious as to whether fish can live in the heavily mineralized water.

    Hashbrown Casserole for Breakfast

Here is a really easy camping recipe that is great for breakfast. Prep time is only 5 minutes and cook time is only 30. For 6 servings, you will need: • A bag of shredded hash browns • 6 eggs (beaten) • 1/4 cup diced onion, • 1 pound of pre-cooked sausage (chopped) • Seasoning salt...

    Can you believe this!

It must have been nice back then Grandpa, not worrying about some crazy person shooting the entire class. My daughter is in fourth grade and I always worry about the kids getting a hold of a gun and heading to school. There was one little girl I was particularly concerned about. She had a...

Found a free tents only campground florida

I would love to visit one of these campgrounds. While the National Forests sound interesting, however, I think I would have to start at an actual campground. I have a nine-year-old daughter and will have to get her used to 'roughing it' before venturing out to an entirely secluded and live off...

    Wildlife in Winter

I love watching the birds in my neighborhood. I have a hummingbird that always visits my kitchen window in the summer months. I have also seen cardinals, bluebirds and a falcon will sometimes fly overhead. The falcon concerns me because I have a small dog and I am always worried that he is...

    Make your own Velveeta

I think that cheese will be perfect for my homemade macaroni and cheese recipe. It would be a nice change from the sharp cheddar cheese that I usually use. Thanks for the recipe CA_gal! :tinysmile_twink_t:

    Camping in cold weather?

I was just wondering if there is certain camping gear that is meant to be used in colder weather. I know there has been talk of the tent heater, but I really do not feel comfortable with that idea. Is there any other ways you can stay warm in your tent if it is cold outside? I love waking up...

    Hiking in snow and tracks

I am sure that made your day! Finding tracks in the snow is always fun. We have deer here in the Midwest and every so often, I will see deer tracks on my frozen pond. It always makes me wish I could catch him walking across there. :tinysmile_hmm_t:
