When we were younger my grandmother would take us hiking into the bush to pick the wild blueberries that grew in bushes. I think she secretly did this on purpose so we could pick them for her. Do you ever pick berries while hiking?

If the berry's are ripe at the time, yes. Thimble berrys, choke cherrys, wild raspberrys, are all great. But chokecherries are the only berries we actually go out to pick.

Yes, all the time. :)

I feel like that is one of the highlights of the trip, to be honest. I love to make berry pies when we are back home or freeze the berries and mix them in with our ice cream.

Of course. My Mom was raised on a berry farm. Huckleberries, thimbleberries, wild strawberries, blackberries and salmonberries mostly.

In the Northwoods, blueberries. In Alaska high and low bush cranberries.

I have picked berries and eaten them while hiking. In my state we have mulberries, elderberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. There is just something about eating out in the woods that makes them taste that much better.
