Favorite thing about hunting

I never really got into serious hunting myself so I'm curious what it is about it any of the hunters here like the most. Do you like the sport of it? Having a stocked freezer? The connection with nature while you're out there?

I love all 3! I love being outdoors and it's a great way to save money on meat too. A lot of times I just go out and look around, I don't even shoot at anything. I think there is also a lot of fond memories of hunting with my dad.

I love getting up in the morning while most of the outdoors is still sleeping. The hush of the pre-dawn world and the chill in the air is exhilarating.

I enjoy settling in at a prime spot and waiting and watching. If I don't bag anything, I've still enjoyed a beautiful bit of solitude.

Of course, the thrill of the hunt can't be overlooked. Bagging, cleaning and then enjoying the meat is the cherry on top.
