WE HAVE COME A LONG WAY FROM...

4337 * Field and Stream

TO

Pocket
Solar
Chemicals including kerosene.
BBQ
Candle
Matches in various lengths and sizes
Cubes of different descriptions

Briquettes
Magnesium
and
Homemade lighters.

4339 Magnesium, flint, and steel.

I've used lint from the dryer, pine cones with wax, cotton balls saturated with petroleum jelly, stuffed toilet roll cores, and even Dereto chips.

But

NEVER GAS!

What kinds of things do you use to "light your fire."

I am one that has used kerosene, oh yes the shame of it. It works very well to. But I need to broaden my horizons and knowledge. I have tried the magnesium flint and steel once. I tried shaving the magnesium off onto a dry leaf, but I would accidentally hit the leaf with my hand and send the shavings flying through the air. That didn't work to well.

I think I'll stick with a lighter, matches and maybe some form of fire starter other then a liquid fuel. I'm going to toss in a couple of tea light candles for this coming trip Screenshot_20240513-195652.png
My wife had a whole bag of them. Plus it's supposed to rain, uhg what else should I expect. Screenshot_20240513-195924.png
Going to get wet.

Looking good. What...wait a minute. Chance of Storms? Exactly what does that mean in your neck of the woods? Because in this jurisdiction it means a violent atmosphere disturbance with strong winds and usually rain, thunder, lightning, or snow.

The candles displayed - are they the eight-hour burns? That's the kind I use. And what should you expect? As John Penitte would scream, "ANYTHING"!

I don't think the storms will be anything drastic, they rarely are.
The candles might burn for an hour, they are small.Screenshot_20240514-003323.png
