A friend of mine told me that he has created "food plots" to help attract deer and make them easier to hunt. I am just wondering if this is really worth the time and effort. Has anyone had success doing this?

Heard of trophy hunters leaving mineral blocks out to promote antler growth.

Our western mule deer need and like naturally growing bitters with an occasional visit to an alfalfa or fall wheat field. These we have in abundance so not sure what else would attract them.

I have seen deer in our garden before. They seem to like to eat the corn plant for some reason. I am sure there are lots of ways to attract them with some kind of food plot. Not just plants but licks at the plot site.
