How long are your day hikes?

Our longest hike to date was ten miles and that was awhile back. We have small children hiking with us now so when they go we keep it to a mile or two.

I understand completely, when I have the kids with, our hikes tend to be around the 5 mile range.

Due to some errors on my last hike, it turned out to be a 17 mile day hike... with a full backpack. Usually they are about 10 miles.

That's quite a hike... my last hike was only supposed to be 12 miles, still trying to figure out how it ended up being 15, I know of 1 mistake a made that cost me about 1/2 mile, but not sure about the rest though.... That being said, I am still a newbie, this is my first summer to hike, and I only have about 10 or so hikes logged.

I keep mine at 10 or less. More fun, less steps. Last year 4 of us did a massive 4 day 18 mile loop. The only sore was my side at laughing so much.
My last 3 day hikes were 8.5, 3.5 and 6 miles.

This past weekend I took the kiddos on an 8 mile hike on an easy rated trail, we had a blast, lots of little creeks and streams to cool off in along the trail.
