Tarps

When car camping I use several tarps. One for under the tent, one to string up for showering in private, and an extra for bad weather for cooking under or extra covering for tent. I never go out for less than a week. When backpacking just one tarp, like grandpa said shade for a nap or chanding wet clothes outside. very useful.

I'm a big fan of using tarp and no tent actually.
It's good for the summer or in hot climates.

These things are absolute money. My brother has one. I have one that's in ACU and a bit smaller, but the MARPAT tarp (issued gear actually) was amazing.
