Going Camping

Im going camping alone in 3 weeks. I have 9 days (July 31 - Aug 8) including travel time by car from St. Louis, MO. Right now i am thinking either Smoky Mountain NP(TN and NC) or Sleeping Bear (MI). Any other recommentations of a nice park to camp at. Maybe a 2 night backpack in there somewhere, but mostly im looking into just chilling and doing dayhikes.

I would perfer somewhere with a limited number of people and within a day or two drive.

Seriously, the Smoky Mnts. are beautiful! (I'm in NC native currently living in California).

I would agree the Smokey Mountains. I haven't camped there yet, but have been through there. I really wished I would have stopped. I did get a chance to go horse back riding in Pigeon Forge Tenn. It was close, but not the same.
