There is only one way to be sure and that is with scotch tape. Should there be positive results, you might consider fishing with the head end connected to the hook, and at all costs avoid using the tail end (already used once with scotch tape).
Hiker Joe, this is vital information, do not under any circumstances cough up a large worm in a restaurant forcing them to close for the evening. In your state the fines are overwhelmingly burdensome and such behavior is frowned upon. Boulder bans noncompliants and Evergreen arrests them. Golden shoots for contamination of water sources, and Garden of the Gods will never accept your peace offerings again.
