I have never had an ATV. I am a little curious to know how much they cost. Not just getting the ATV but does it need tags? Would I have to get a special licence? What are the costs of owning an ATV?

Right, and you might also be thinking the wrong way. You assume that they are sailing down stream and want to bring the boat back. If that is the case and they don't want to fight up stream they may drive the boat back. However maybe they drove the boat upstream and are sailing it back.

They are edible but I would have to be starving in the woods on survival mode to convince myself to eat the liver of any animal.

I can see why wool socks are great. I know that sailors used to be called woolies because they would wear wool to keep them from getting hypothermia. I believe that wool wicks moisture away. I think I have seen cotton wool hybrid socks before but I have not tried those.

Something we try to do and to teach the children is to clean up all of your own trash and then pick up one or two more things. I try to explain to them that if every one cleaned up after themselves and picked up one or two extra things the world might be a better place.

We had some of them. They were original paper and quite lovely. The sad part is that somehow they got thrown in to the campfire and that was the end of that.

We have a serious coyote problem as well. They travel in packs here as well and come in to the city at night. They have not attacked anyone yet but if you were attacked by a pack of coyotes you could be seriously injured or even killed.

Ahhh metric! So that horse is over 7 feet tall. I read somewhere there was one back in the 1800s that was a lot taller than that.. or maybe that site had a typo in the number? Or maybe horses from the 1800s don't count in the records or something.

You could try finding a powder made from lavender, lemongrass and geranium. A Chinese herbalist made this up for us and it helps keep the ticks away. Something in the herbs repels them.

You want to try your best not to attract them. When I was younger one of my siblings left and open jar of peanut butter on the picnic table and some other things. This attracted a bear.

I do not travel all the time but my parents do. I miss them when they are gone but I think it is wonderful that they get to see and do so much. They always send pics and post cards and I love to collect them.

This is such a great question but after reading everyones posts I think it might be one of those things that is really up to the perception of the person. Also I do not think you can die hard hikers to normal people.
