    Pain from the bike seat

This is a common problem. I don't know why they don't make the seats more comfortable to begin with. I hadn't thought about padded biker shorts. I'm not sure though, that they would be very fashionable.

    When Taking Your Dog...

OTBD, That is so cute. I love to see a little one stand up to the big dogs. Chances are they are so taken aback they cower right down.

    Finally

Care to share the big honeymoon plans? Are you going on a nature theme vacation? Does she love nature, too? Sorry, hope I'm not being too nosey.

    State Parks' Fees have increased

We went to Cloudland State Park in Georgia over the weekend and was disappointed to find out the parking fee has increased to $5.00 a visit. It was hard enough paying $3.00 a visit, much less $5.00. In a time where people are losing their jobs and the only outlet for entertainment is to take the...

    Volunteers keep parks running

I for one would like to thank the Kirkpatricks and all those who volunteer to help make our parks a better place. We love Red Top Mountain all the hiking trails they have available. We have spent many hours exploring this wondrous mountain and the nearby Lake Allatoona.

    Dog Gone It

I am not against people taking their dogs with them on the trail. There have been many times I would have loved to had a dog to pull me up the impossible hill. But, it does bother me when they are running free and the owners let the dogs come right up to my kids. I don't know how to react. I...

    So here is my problem

Yep, it sure does. I feel young at heart, but I just am not able to go the distances that I used to. I still have so much that I want to do, but so little energy and time in comparison.

    Hiking Poles

We have used wooden walking sticks for years and they work just fine. My inlaws actually carve out their own and they end up pretty nice. We have also bought walking sticks from Indian Shows when they are in town. A good walking stick has helped me up many a hill and I feel like if I do come up...

    Killed A Snake By Mistake

Eeew. I for one don't really care for snakes either. Even if they are the ones that kill the other snakes. I prefer to kill first and let someone else dispose of and ask questions later. :tinysmile_twink_t2:

    Hey there from Colorado!

If you can tell us more specifically what part of Colorado you are living in, I'm sure we can help. Colorado is a great state for hiking, hunting, fishing, skiing, etc. It has something for everyone. We try to make it over at least every year or two. We have several favorite areas including...

    Alaska

I love the pictures. They are absolutely beautiful, well maybe not the one with the antlers. Of course, that's just my opinion. I love Alaska. It has the most beautiful country in the world. It is a common misconception that the whole state is cold. Alaska actually has some pretty...

    Baked banana's

What a great idea! I would like to try it, as well. This may sound like a silly question, but do you cook the bananas in the peel and then take the peel off after it is done? I also like the honey and the chocolate idea, maybe not together; but they do sound good.

What ANIMALS have you seen in the wild?

We were out camping at Amicalola Falls in Georgia one year; and had a surprise visitor. One evening, we looked up and a big black bear was wandering around within eye shot of our camp. Thankfully, he wasn't too interested in picking up some extra lunch. Although, at the time we didn't know that...

    Grilling and Camping

I like that idea too, Barney. Hmmm, I wonder if they make them small enough to put in the dishwasher, when you get back home. My husband is under the impression that if you build the fire hot enough, it will burn off all the germs; but I would rather not chance it.

    My fear of horses.

Hi Tomboy, Don't feel too bad about your intimidation of horses. It is perfectly natural for us to be afraid of something. Horse are very big animals, some of them are taller than we can reach up. However, most of them are very gentle creatures and given the chance can become your best...

    Whiskey Dogs

That sounds delicious. The alcohol cooking into the hot dogs gives it a great flavor. I would probably use barbecue sauce though, instead of ketchup.

    Coffee

A coffee press is also known as a French press or a coffee plunger. Although there are different specific designs, the main concept includes a plunger which comes through the lid down through the container. You brew the water and the beans together. After a few minutes you will push the plunger...
