    Sleeping bag

Watch out for labels and instructions. Some gear requires special soaps from the manufacturer. But sleeping bags are usually OK to wash in a washing machine.

    Who exercises?

I do exercise regularly and people ask me for advice all the time so I don't have those problems. On the other hand I have people asking me why am I so committed, which annoys me a lot.

    Basic Fishing Kit?

Let's say you don't have a fishing pole. What are the basic pieces of equipment that you would use for fishing, considering that you can make a pole out of a stick?

    Hiking Shoes?

Yes, Vibram soles for all shoes. I won't even buy a good hiking shoe without it because once you try a shoe with it, there's no going back on old, simple models.

    Survival Mantra

I believe that survival business reached it's peak but somewhere deep down I think there is even more out there. I think as crisis in the country rises these stories will only spread more.

    Liner Socks?

Do you combine two pair of socks, one thin and one thick, when hiking? Apparently this should help by preventing blisters formation? Any thoughts on this?

    Hiking Shoes?

Sometimes it's the science of choosing socks and first aid that saves your feet from disaster. I don't care what the brand is, as long as they fit, like Lamebeaver said.

    Small Inflatable Boat?

This is insanely expensive for such a minor thing. I remember nutnfancy preaching about a $70 boat of this quality, but I can't remember the name or brand right now.

    Afraid of the Dark?

Are you afraid of the dark? Sometimes this can be a real problem to some people when spelunking. I wouldn't want to go alone but I can control my fear.

    Flares?

I would rarely use these, mainly because I don't have any :) But, seriously, I can't see myself in need of these things. Maybe on a solo cruise.

    Open Sea?

I have a certain fear when being out in the open sea. Do you feel the same? There is something in the tumbling water that has a way of getting into your bones?

    Necessity of a Sleeping Pad?

Isolation from the cold ground is what I'm looking for in the winter. But it depends on where you're sleeping also. Harder ground is not an option if you want to sleep normally.

    Staying Hydrated

It depends on where you are going and how much water is there, because procuring water can sometimes be slow, hard and even detrimental to your mood. So, make sure you carry plenty.

    Hiking With Children

Is there anything better than hiking with your kids, but not when they are too small since can be a pain to manage? The best is the age where they can appreciate the knowledge you will give them.

    2 Sets of Field Guides

I will double stock on things that are either hard to find or will be discontinued soon by the manufacturer. Also, some things are just worth having a pair.

    Time for warm socks!

Smartwool for me, all the way. I use two or three of their models, depending on what I'm doing and in what temperature. Merino wool is irreplaceable when it comes to socks!

    The Name of The Game!

Good, thanks for asking! I hope I will be even better after starting a few conversations in here. Today is a gloomy day and I wait for a little sunshine.

    Hydration Systems

Listen to us, we are so advanced in talking about hydration bladders while I definitely know people who don't plan carrying more than 2 quartz of water on a weekend trip and don't even think about how much will they need. And they are surprised once they run out of it in the woods.
