My longest hike was 4 miles... hahah. One day i'll be able to hike 10 or more miles for the joy and beauty of nature once i get older :) I'm SOOOOO CRAZY about the outdoors, I really can't get enough of it. And it sucks that I haven't hiked in 4 months because of school and work.

It's always better to be prepared... otherwise something happens and you didn't bring anything but band-aids, you'll regret it. I bring everything from band-aids to gauze pads/rolls to quik clot and everything that is needed for life threatening situations. Even though I know the hike is safe...

Is there really much of a difference in pepper sprays for bears and (humans)? except for the fact that the ones for the bears are much bigger.

Does anyone have any ways to help me train my dog how to stay within a certain distance from me when i take him off the leash? He seems to find everything interesting and run to it, and sometimes he goes crazy and runs and i start to panic hoping there's nothing dangerous ahead.
